The main purpose of the drug is to treat and prevent diseases of viral origin, strengthen the immune system, and also accelerate the recovery of animals with prolonged inflammation.

The instructions for use also indicate the properties of a hepatoprotector, which provides reliable protection for the liver, gastrointestinal tract and kidneys.

Fosprenil normalizes the activity of the cat’s internal organs and systems, stimulates the development of kittens and prevents the occurrence of infectious diseases. It is actively used in nurseries in bad epidemiological conditions, before exhibition events or breeding pets.

The main diseases for which Fosprenil is indicated include:

Where and how to inject?

Intramuscular injection of the drug is performed into large skeletal muscles. This can be done in the upper thigh area. The needle is inserted from the tail side. Another injection is given in the upper third of the shoulder. In this case, the needle is inserted from behind the abdomen.

Subcutaneous injections are made into the withers or the area between the shoulder blades. Before doing this, you need to slightly lift the skin with your fingers, and then insert a needle under the fold.

IV administration requires experience. If it is missing, it is better to seek help from a veterinary clinic. The specifics of the IV injection are as follows:

  1. The pet's paw is tied with a tourniquet.
  2. A needle without a syringe should be inserted into the manifested vein.
  3. A syringe containing medication is then attached to the needle.
  4. Blood should enter the cavity of the syringe.
  5. The tourniquet is removed and the drug is slowly injected into the vein.

The injection solution cannot be combined with saline formulations.

Orally

Oral administration is practiced 15 minutes before meals. However, the drug cannot be combined with other medications. The method is suitable if there is no opportunity or skill to administer injections.

Rectally

Rectal administration implies a dosage increase of 2 times (if necessary). However, not all cats agree to such a procedure.
