  • There is a large variety of dry and wet food, but we will pay attention to Bozita cat food and learn about its pros and cons, after which we will draw a conclusion about whether it is worth giving food from this brand to your pet.

    Bozita cat food belongs to the super-premium class. It is produced in Sweden, where the requirements for cat food are quite high. It is produced in two types: pouches (wet food) and dry. If you look at reviews of Bozita cat food, you will notice that most owners talk about its undeniable advantages, emphasizing the positive and negative aspects.

    Feed class

    The manufacturer classifies its food as super-premium, however, in fact, it is not such for several reasons.

    Firstly, due to the vagueness and imprecision of the wording (“dehydrated meat” may contain by-products, but this is not indicated).

    Secondly, due to the presence of wheat and corn.

    Thirdly, due to the meager presence of other useful components (from vegetables - only beets), from herbs - rose hips.

    Therefore, we can safely classify the product as premium.

    History of the manufacturing company

    The Bozita Feline mixture production plant is located in Västergötland in Sweden, near the city of Votgård. The company's founder, Aaron Heyman, dreamed from a young age of producing exceptionally high quality pet food.

    In 1903, he realized his idea - dog food made from natural meat and oatmeal was the first to roll off the factory’s assembly line. They were made only from local products and met all the standards of the country, which is famous for the high quality of any products produced.

    The company, named Doggy AB, remains today the largest manufacturer of food for dogs and cats in Sweden.

    According to the company's leading nutritionists, the preparation technology uses exclusively high-quality farm raw materials and the purest local water. During the production process, no hormonal substances, artificial colors, or flavor enhancers are used.

    But not all veterinarians and felinologists agree that Doggy AB products correspond to the declared quality.

    How to replace "Bozita"

    Often cat owners are faced with the need to look for a replacement for their pet’s favorite food. There can be many reasons: a lack of usual food in local stores, a change in the health status or preferences of the animal. When considering options for replacing Bozita food, you should first take into account the class of the product (super premium). If you are looking for an analogue of your favorite Bozita food, it is unlikely that economy class food will suit you. As a rule, in such a situation it is worth considering super-premium food or holistic food, since this kind of product will have a composition closest to Bozita and contain the least amount of preservatives.

And it is likely that in your search for suitable food for your cat, you will have to feed more than one kilogram of treats to street animals. If your pet is intolerant to certain foods or suffers from certain diseases, options for replacing Bozita food should be discussed first with your veterinarian.

    Compound

    • fresh, dehydrated, dried meat (chicken, beef, pork, duck, venison, lamb, elk);
    • dried and dehydrated fish (salmon and others);
    • corn, corn gluten, wheat (sources of carbohydrates and vegetable protein);
    • wheat flour;
    • dried beet pulp (source of fiber);
    • bone fat (source of fatty acids);
    • yeast (source of B vitamins);
    • potassium chloride (potassium salt);
    • dicalcium phosphate (source of calcium);
    • cellulose;
    • rose hip;
    • beet pulp;
    • minerals and vitamins.

    Advantages and disadvantages

    • According to a study by Roskachestvo, Bozita food is recognized as safe and of high quality. No mycotoxins, E. coli, infectious agents or salmonella were found in it; no antibiotics, radionuclides or heavy metals. The amount of benzoic acid is within the limits established by Roskachestvo. There are no traces of foreign impurities (sticks, sawdust, garbage, metal shavings), there are no traces of pests of grain stocks.
    • In Sweden it is prohibited to use growth hormones in animal husbandry, which means there is no need to worry about their presence in meat. The same applies to genetically modified animal raw materials: GMOs are prohibited.
    • The MakroGard immunostimulant is a patented and harmless substance, absolutely natural. It strengthens the immune system and the body as a whole, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
    • The percentage of crude fiber, protein and crude fat corresponds to the percentage indicated on the packaging and meets all standards.
    • The amount of fats, proteins and carbohydrates is balanced.
    • It is enriched with a rich complex of amino acids and vitamins: A, E, D, B2, B3, B6, potassium, zinc, selenium, sodium, manganese, magnesium, calcium. There are unsaturated fatty acids (such as arachidonic and linoleic).
    • The taste of both dry and wet food does not deteriorate by the end of the shelf life (due to the good ratio of acidic and peroxide fats).
    • There are no dyes or synthetic flavors in the composition.
    • The assortment is large, food can be bought in many cities or ordered via the Internet directly from the manufacturers.
    • There are traces of pesticides: permethrin and piperonyl butoxide. They could get into the feed either intentionally (as a protective agent against pests) or accidentally (along with plant materials). However, their number is not regulated by any standards, and this raises some concerns.
    • The amount of potassium is higher than normal, and the amount of calcium also differs from the normal intake.
    • It contains corn and wheat, and they are the strongest allergens, leading to diabetes and obesity.
    • The composition contains cellulose, which does not provide any nutritional value, but is added solely for weight. It is also not specified what yeast is used.
    • The line does not contain dietary food (for animals with sensitive stomachs), or treats.
    • It is not clear what preservatives are used, since the packaging states vaguely “high-energy ingredients protected by EU-certified antioxidants.”
    • Feed is expensive, so not every owner can afford to buy the product on a regular basis or even often.
    • Users have noted many errors in Russian labels, which misleads users. For example, Cassia Gum is translated as “cinnamon gum,” but in reality it is cassia gum, a thickener.

    In 2010, she graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after K.I. Scriabin with honors, specializing in veterinary medicine. I regularly attend veterinary conferences, congresses, and webinars.

    Don't forget that dry food makes you very thirsty. And, even if your cat drank little before this time, then with a change in the menu she will begin to run to the drinking bowl more often. Make sure that her bowl is always filled with fresh water at a comfortable drinking temperature. Running water is saturated with oxygen, but not tap water (it contains too many compounds harmful to animals), but passed through a filter. Bottled water (from underground sources) will also work. But boiled water is not healthy!

    Should your pet take Bozita: reviews from veterinarians and owners

    Grain-free feeds are much better in composition, contain a lot of animal protein, and potatoes are the source of carbohydrates. Recently, more and more feed manufacturers have preferred this vegetable; some studies claim that potatoes even help balance the level of amino acids in meat protein. The rest of the ingredients in the food also give me no complaints, except perhaps lignocellulose, which is added instead of fiber to cat food for hair removal, but I believe that the component acts quite harshly on the digestive tract, I would like more “gentle” components.

    My neutered cat has finally stopped getting bloated. The food is nutritious, but it does not contribute to fat deposition due to the animal’s sedentary lifestyle (there is an additive of l-carnitine). Sema absorbs this food well. Only he doesn’t like it when Bozita stands in the air for a while. The food is no longer as aromatic and less crunchy. Sometimes, even with a full bowl, he asks for fresh food. So dose the feed as needed and down to the gram.

    The granules are round, all the same color. The size is medium and this is good because the cat has to chew it. We have had cases where the food was too finely granulated and the cat simply swallowed it, practically without chewing it. And chewed food is absorbed better and faster.

    We have been eating bozita for almost 3 months. Today the food has won our love! ...sold in convenient packaging. There is a fastener, thanks to which the food does not spoil or become damp. In general, it stays fresh and tasty for a long time...
