Everything would be fine, but... Around the age of two years, the cat began to develop periodic problems with the skin and fur. We didn’t attach much importance to this, we just bought vitamins and calmed down, but then the problems became more global and we could no longer ignore it. Our cat started scratching her neck and behind her ears until she bled, and it got to the point that she had some kind of lump on her skin, which had to be surgically removed at the clinic. The vet said it was a food allergy. My cat and I went through the full course of treatment (ointment and injections), and since the doctor said that our cat had a food allergy and needed a special veterinary diet, we had to switch to special food. And not one of the cheapest - Royal Canin Sensitivity Control, which is designed specifically for cats with food allergies and intolerances. Since it has practically no analogues, I had to switch to it. The price in stores for a 1.5 kg package, frankly speaking, is shocking (this is after economy food), but nothing can be done, the cat is dear, like a member of the family. They immediately began to feed her according to the norm indicated on the package, fortunately she is not a big glutton for food, and this norm is quite enough for her. We feed based on the following calculation: our cat weighs about 2.5 kg, so based on the norm on the package per day, she needs about 45 grams of food - I get half a metal food cup. In total, it turns out that a 1.5 kg package of food specifically for our cat will be enough for 33-35 days. Roughly speaking, for a month, which brightens up the price tag at least a little. Also, so that our beauty doesn’t feel completely sad, we also buy pouches (bags) of Royal Canin Sensitivity Control liquid food, 100 g each. and divide into two days, two doses (morning/evening). We give them more as a delicacy, since the price for them is also steep. The composition of the food is really good. The main ingredients are rice and duck meat. At the same time, as I later read, it is not pure duck meat that is added to the food, but dehydrated proteins of this meat, which minimize the development of allergic reactions. In addition, it contains a bunch of useful additives and vitamins (fats, vitamins, minerals, etc.). Indeed, the economy class food was not even close. But the price, again, I repeat, is consistent. Now the result. As it turns out, when switching to diet food, you need patience, since there was a desire to switch back to economy food, because we did not see any visible improvements, the cat’s problems with the skin and fur continued. But something stopped me, and I decided to give the food another chance. And as it turned out, it was not in vain that after a couple of months the result became really noticeable. Now we have been feeding the cat this food for the fifth month. The cat began to “climb” less, the fur became smoother and thicker. And the most important thing is that all skin problems went away. The cat became more active and took on the appearance of a healthy animal:) We didn’t regret switching to this food, since the health of our pet is much more important to us:)
