Royal Canin cat food
Royal Canin is a brand of food specially designed for cats and dogs. Food manufacturers assure that only professionals work on the development of recipes and product composition: veterinarians and specialists in the field of pet nutrition.
Royal Canin brand food can be found in any pet store
Often food of this brand can be found in the windows of regular stores.
Who is the manufacturer of this food?
In 1967, veterinarian Jean Katari developed a special food mixture for dogs. This is how the Royal Canin brand was created. The Frenchman did not stop there and opened a whole production. Within 5 years, all of France knew about special food for dogs, so by the end of the 70s, Royal Canin became a recognizable brand. Constant work to improve product quality and expand the range has led to the development of lines for cats.
The popular French product came to the Russian Federation in 1992. It took Russians about a year to evaluate the new product. Specialty product lines quickly became popular among large breeders as well. Within a year, nurseries and clubs for breeding purebred cats began to trust this product. Gradually, veterinarians joined the Royal Canin food connoisseurs.
When my sister’s cat fell ill (diagnosed with chronic renal failure), one of the veterinarian’s recommendations was a change in diet. Among the recommended foods was Royal.
The founder of the world famous brand was a French veterinarian
By the mid-90s, the manufacturing company began to expand. Additional production complexes were opened in other countries. At the same time, French scientists began working on separate product lines for “special” animals. The first food to be developed was for sterilized cats. It was assumed that such food would contain a reduced amount of calories, which means that the risk of obesity would be minimized. Cat breeders all over the world supported the innovation.
In 2004, the first Royal Canin feed production plant opened in Russia. A production complex was launched in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow region, which included the latest scientific and technological developments. This plant produces special feed to this day.
Currently, products are being manufactured all over the world for different nutritional programs. The manufacturer assures that what has been achieved is not the limit. The company is expanding, studying the needs of modern domestic cats, taking into account veterinary recommendations. On the shelves of pet stores you can buy “Royal” for any cat.
This is what the Royal Canin feed production plant looks like in the Dmitrovsky district
Now Royal Canin has 12 large production complexes in different countries of the world: South Africa, USA, Brazil, Argentina, Russia, Poland, Canada, Great Britain, China, Japan, France). The popular brand includes more than 200 types of food for cats and dogs (including special food for 6 different breeds of cats).
What class does it belong to?
All industrial feeds can be divided into 4 classes:
- Economy class;
- premium class;
- super premium;
- holistic class.
This division principle was proposed by the International Association of Veterinarians. It often happens that one food “wanders” from one class to another. In addition, this fact is also influenced by advertising, because some manufacturers may abuse PR technologies (often one quality is indicated on the product packaging, but the product itself is of a different quality). Many pet owners listen to the advice of veterinarians and select food based on the recommended grade. However, the class can be determined not only by the cost of the product. Economy class food is the most budget-friendly (low-quality ingredients - up to 10 items, digestibility below 30%, cheap packaging, the product itself does not take into account the characteristics of the animal).
Premium food contains higher quality components (the number of ingredients can reach 30). Feeds of this class are more expensive than their economy counterparts. Such products require advertising, since veterinarians are reluctant to recommend these foods to their patients. However, some manufacturers of such products offer lines of food developed taking into account the physiological characteristics of individual cats: the age of the animal, problems of the digestive tract, low activity of cats, etc.
Royal Canin cat food is a premium and super premium product.
The super premium class is characterized by the following criteria:
- The product contains the highest quality ingredients (at least 40% of the composition).
- Feed digestibility should be at least 90%.
- Everyday feed should take into account the physiological characteristics of the animal: age, body weight, physical activity, etc.
- The specific needs of cats must be taken into account (for example, there must be food to improve the quality of the coat, to remove hairballs from the gastrointestinal tract, etc.).
- The brand has a special dietary line.
- The presence of research centers and laboratories at the manufacturer (such organizations should conduct year-round work to study the effect of feed on the condition of animals).
Royal Canin is a super premium food. However, recently you can increasingly see user complaints on forums. Cat owners are sometimes dissatisfied with the quality of the product.
Cat breeders who purchase Royal for their pets are divided into 2 camps. Some believe that food simply cannot be suitable for all cats (sometimes there is intolerance), and the owner must take into account all health features when choosing a product. And the second part of those who tried this food claim that the quality of only the Royal food, which is produced in Russia, has deteriorated. Moreover, I saw comments indicating that the product, which is produced in France, satisfies the tastes of even capricious cat owners. Therefore, despite the claims, it is sometimes called a premium product. In addition, the rights to produce French food in Russia have recently belonged to the Mars company, and this company specializes in economy-class food.
The most expensive and high-quality feeds are holistic foods.
Holistic cat food products meet the following criteria:
- they are not advertised (such food is sold only in specialized stores and at a very high price);
- Such food contains only 100% meat (even humans can eat this food);
- the packaging indicates what kind of meat was used;
- do not contain flavorings, dyes, flavor enhancers, vegetable proteins, GMOs and other additives;
- 100% product absorption;
- All the needs and characteristics of the animal are taken into account.
Production of dry food in Russia

If a chronicle of the Russian production of food for cats and dogs existed, it would certainly have included a chapter about the Mars company and about the marketing noise with which “Western” pet food appeared on the shelves of supermarkets and the then few pet stores. “Your pussy would buy Whiskas” - an advertising slogan of the 90s that was not heard except by the deaf. But no books have been written about this, so we’ll tell you about the first steps of Russian “feed makers”, how production developed in Russia and who makes the difference in the market today.
International companies
Mars. A breakthrough in feed production in Russia was the opening of Mars factories. She risked entering the completely empty Russian pet market before anyone else, and she alone had to break through the wall of consumer mistrust in industrial feed. The first was a plant in the Luzhniki village of the Stupino urban district, which began producing dry food in 1995. In 2002, a plant opened in the Novosibirsk region. Now the range of these enterprises differs, but only slightly. Thus, in Luzhniki near Moscow, the entire commercial range of dry food is produced, including Whiskas®, Pedigree®, Kitekat™, Chappi®, Perfect Fit™ and Nature's Table™ products, and the Novosibirsk factory produces dry products of the Whiskas®, Pedigree®, Kitekat™ brands , Chappi®. The factories are capable of producing products weighing from 0.19 to 15 kg.
95% of raw materials for Mars Petcare in Russia are from local suppliers. Russian Mars feed production plants are focused on meeting domestic demand. A small share of products is exported to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Mars enterprises became not only the first example of high-quality production of dry food for cats and dogs in Russia, but also a school for a large number of specialists in its technology. After all, before Mars arrived on the Russian market, there was little knowledge in this area. Employees with experience working at the company’s factories were worth their weight in gold; they were eagerly recruited and subsequently bought up by those who risked opening their own production in Russia.
Aller PetFood. At the very beginning of the 2000s, an enterprise of the Danish family company Aller PetFood was opened in Tver. Production was located at the Tver plant, equipped with European equipment.
Today, Aller Petfood Group is a leader in the Russian private label feed market. Its arsenal includes the entire production cycle - from the idea and formulation of diet formulas to the design, production of packaging and packaging of finished feed. The plant produces economy and premium class products. In addition to private labels, the plant produces its own brands, well known on the Russian market: All Dogs & All Cats, All Puppies and Tasty. Mostly Russian raw materials are used for production, imported ingredients make up a small part.
Royal Canin. In 2004, the Royal Canin factory in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow region began producing dry food. It was one of the first factories in the country to produce premium and super-premium food. In 2015, a second production line was opened, which doubled the plant's capacity. Today, the Royal Canin factory in Dmitrov produces 574 types of products out of 641 existing in the company’s portfolio.
Russian suppliers of raw materials account for 77%. Regardless of the country from which the raw materials come, the requirements for their quality are the same. The Royal Canin production complex is certified for exporting products to the countries of the Customs and European Union, China, Turkey and India.
Nestle. In the fall of 2007, the Nestlé Purina PetCare factory for the production of pet food, the largest among 13 Purina enterprises in Europe, opened in the village of Vorsino, Kaluga Region. Investments in the development of the enterprise amount to more than 22 billion rubles. The plant produces both dry and wet products.
The share of locally produced raw materials and packaging materials used at the Nestlé Purina PetCare factory is about 85%. Most of the meat ingredients used (chicken by-products, lamb, beef, pork, salmon, animal fats), vegetables, and grains are of Russian origin. The remaining quarter is imported minerals and nutrients, grain processing products, and some types of animal flour.
All Purina products meet the same high quality standards, regardless of the country of production. Among the brands produced are Felix, Purina One, Purina One Mini, Pro Plan, Friskies, Darling, Cat Chow, Dog Chow. The factory's products are exported to 14 countries in Europe and the CIS.
Since May 2021, the plant has been using electricity from renewable sources, in particular generated from wind energy.
Provimi. The Provimi holding was founded in the 1930s in Rotterdam (Netherlands). The company began its activities with the production of feed for farm animals. In November 2011, the company was purchased by the American company Cargill.
Provimi has been operating in Russia for more than twenty years. Now the company has six factories, one of which, located in the city of Klin, produces food for pets. The plant was put into operation in 2008 and is equipped with a modern automated line with a capacity of 36 thousand tons per year, the latest Wenger and Van Aarsen equipment. Both domestic and imported raw materials are used in production.
The company produces its own brand of feed, Provipet, and offers services for manufacturing feed products according to its own recipes or according to customer recipes. At the Provimi plant, by order of third-party organizations, feed brands are produced: Blitz, Skif, Trapeza, Oscar, MonAmi, LiveRa, Darsi.
Russian professionals
After the triumphant entry of imported brands into the emerging Russian industrial feed market, Russian businessmen began to think about their own production. It promised good profits and looked very promising in light of the growing demand for pet products. By that time, there were feed mills in the country that produced feed for productive animals. The production technology at many of them made it possible to produce food for cats and dogs. Almost the entire history of the emergence of foreign brands for pets is connected with companies producing products for farm animals (Royal Canin, Aller Pet Food, Bosch...), so the attempts of Russian feed manufacturers to enter the Russian market with pet food seemed quite natural.
"Flour Mill". One of the first experiments in large-scale production of Russian dry pet food was that which opened in 1998 in Tver and produced the legendary Trapeza brand. A method for producing dry pet food using meat raw materials was developed and patented by Famel specialists. Since the company was part of the Melkombinat agricultural holding, it did not experience any problems with raw materials for production. The plant could produce products with a protein content of up to 20%, which at that time was a serious breakthrough. A unique feature of the production was that the industrial line was “fitted” into an existing building, which required unusual engineering solutions: the plant was located on several floors of an adapted premises. The average annual production volume in 1998 was about 4 thousand tons of dry food. For further development of the product, scientific developments were needed, which were absent in Russia at that time, and the owners of the company decided to focus on Danish scientists, with whom they entered into a cooperation agreement. Subsequently, this production became part of the business of the Aller Petfood company, and today it develops the Trapeza trademark.
Gatchina KKZ. An example of successful production diversification can be cited based on the experience of the Gatchina KKZ. Today this company unites three factories: the production of feed for farm animals and birds, dry and canned food for cats and dogs.
The plant for the production of dry food for dogs and cats began operating in 2006. The production is equipped with Danish equipment, packaging lines are made in Germany and Italy. The plant is fully automated and allows the production of feed of all classes - from economy to superpremium, in packaging from 0.3 to 18 kg.
The main component in dry food is high-quality poultry meal. Fresh offal and meat products from beef, lamb, veal, and rabbit are also introduced into the feed. Fishmeal and oil are used. Russian-made raw materials are used in production.
JSC Gatchina KKZ produces food under its own brands “Nasha Marka”, “Stout”, “TerraKot”, “TerraPes”, “ZakormaRodiny”. In addition, the company places orders for the production of private brands from large retail chains and distribution companies. Feed supplies are carried out throughout Russia, as well as to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.
"Limkorm". The plant was conceived by the owners as the production of food for valuable fish species. But at the stage of purchasing a production line, the idea came to not limit ourselves to this and expand the range of products. The choice was made in favor of a ten-ton extruder from Wenger, capable of, among other things, producing food for dogs and cats. Production started in 2015. Today, the plant’s capacity is 35 thousand tons per year, products range from economy to super premium class (the technology allows the production of feed with a 30% animal protein content). The plant's capacity is 100% loaded, it produces products under its own brands “Our Ration”, Sirius, the hypoallergenic Sirius Platinum line and a number of popular brands C, Karmy, Zooring. The plant works only with the best producers of beef, lamb, poultry and fish from the Belgorod region. The holding produces for its needs a number of premixes for dry food and a probiotic complex.
Currently, the design of the second plant has been completed, the foundation is being laid in the city of Gubkin, Belgorod Region, and the equipment purchased for it will arrive at the end of the first quarter of 2021. It is assumed that all production of dry food for dogs and cats will be transferred to this plant. The planned capacity of the plant with two installed extruders is 70 thousand tons per year. It will use the technology of producing feed with raw meat in the recipe.
"Fast and Furious". The production of canned food for pets began in the Tula region in 2021 with the launch of the Chammy brand and the fulfillment of orders for private labels of the federal chains “Da!”, “Lenta”, “Verny”, “Maria Ra”. The plant uses raw materials from Russian manufacturers.
In 2021, the production of dry food was launched, for which a separate workshop was equipped. The recipe was developed by technologists and consultants from companies that are world market leaders in this segment. The industrial capacity of the plant is 15 thousand tons per year. Economy and middle class products are produced, in packages from 0.35 to 18 kg, and it is planned to produce premium food in the near future.
"GrosChef". The plant in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow region began producing dry food in the fall of 2021. Now it is a separate line in a special workshop. The technology is based on the experience of German manufacturers, but finalized by plant specialists. The equipment is imported. The current monthly capacity of the enterprise is 50 tons of products, in packages from 0.3 to 18 kg.
The plant produces products under its own brands Grand Prix and Jump! super premium and middle classes. The plant does not accept private orders.
Meat flour and dried meat are used, among the protein components are chicken, rabbit, lamb, beef, turkey and various types of fish. The raw materials are Italian, Peruvian, French and Russian.
The company plans to expand production. By mid-2021, it is planned to build a two-story production and warehouse complex with an area of 5 thousand m2 and launch a new line of dry granulated feed, which will allow increasing production volume to 1.2 thousand tons per month by 2024.
"Miratorg". In order to diversify its business, ABH Miratorg decided to start producing pet food. In April 2021, a PetFood plant opened in the Kursk region. Based on the experience of the world's leading companies from the Netherlands, France and Spain, Miratorg managed to create a high-tech production facility that allows adding fresh meat during the extrusion process. The design capacity of the plant is 33 thousand tons of finished products per year.
The company produces premium dry food, packaged from 0.05 to 10 kg, under the Winner brand. Ingredients include dehydrated and fresh beef, veal, chicken, fresh salmon and salmon oil, as well as corn and rice. Dried vegetables, fruits, berries, and natural antioxidants are used.
In the future, it is planned to develop the production of dry food in the super premium segment.
"Biotech". The plant in Rostov-on-Don is engaged in the production of food and treats for birds, rodents, cats and dogs under private labels, and produces food of its own brand “Lucky” for cats and dogs. Products are manufactured on modern equipment using premium raw materials. Production expansion is planned.
"ProdKontrakt-Invest" The plant in Belaya Kalitva, Rostov region, produces products from the famous brands “Night Hunter”, Puffins, “Amurr”, Herbax, and “True Friends”. It has its own line of dry food, equipped with Gruber and Wenger equipment.
Agro-industrial complex and other manufacturers
In addition to factories of international companies and large Russian first-tier manufacturers, the country has many small industries that are based in agricultural enterprises. Their location is determined by their proximity to sources of raw materials - agricultural regions. Among the products, the most often produced are economy-class dog food with protein from plant ingredients, packaged in large bags.
Among the local ones (Moscow), Norman (Novosibirsk region), Laiswood (Rostov-on-Don), which produce dog food under the same brands, as well as Assortment Agro (Sergiev Posad) with the Favorit brand; “Ganesha” (Voronezh region) - brands Mr.Dog, Mr.Cat; "Lipman" (Oryol region) - "Healthy Friends"; Porcelan (Novosibirsk region) - Estrudo feed; “Our City” (Stupino) – brands “Syty Pes”, “Syty Kot”; “Aleyskzernoprodukt” (Altai Territory) - “Dilli” feed; “Pro Ration” (Novosibirsk region) Delicana brand.
This is a small but promising segment of Russian pet food production. Basic products are in some demand and are sometimes popular in local markets. But, most often, they are not complete.
Reason for good news
If we consolidate the existing information, it becomes clear that the bulk of dry food in Russia is produced at the factories of international brands Mars, Nestle, Royal Canin, Aller Petfood, and Provimi. They are, as a rule, the main consumers of raw materials in the ingredients market in Russia. Market leaders set high standards in technology and quality and stimulate the development of the industry as a whole.
Production is actively developing at Russian factories focused on the production of dry food for cats and dogs. The capacities of almost all plants are at capacity, so the active expansion of existing production and the design and construction of new plants is not surprising. In terms of equipment and technology, factories of Russian manufacturers are no longer inferior to international companies, which is also reflected in the quality of the manufactured product.
Feed produced at agro-industrial complex enterprises does not make a difference in the Russian market, but they add some individual characteristics to it.
Today it is absolutely clear that it is this segment of the market - dry food for cats and dogs - that is of interest to our manufacturer and provides powerful motivation for the development and improvement of production in the country. This means that in the near future we can expect good news from dry food manufacturers in Russia.

Assortment and features of feed
Royal Canin offers cat owners three series of food:
- everyday food for adult cats;

- dietary feed.
Photo gallery: some types of everyday food for adult cats
Ageing is the ideal food for older cats (over 12 years old)
Breed Nutrition - food for purebred cats
The Indoor line is suitable for cats leading a domestic lifestyle; for cats with frequent walks there is another food - Outdoor

The manufacturer also took care of the kittens’ diet. Children's "Royal" is also divided into several groups (depending on the age, breed and needs of different kittens):
- Mother and babycat (up to 4 months). Even pregnant cats can eat this food, so you can prepare a large package in advance (suitable for both mother and babies).
- Babycat Instinctive (for kittens up to 4 months);
- Persian for Persian kittens up to 12 months of age;
- British Shorthair for British shorthair kittens under 1 year of age;

- Kitten - classic everyday food for kittens;
- Kitten Sterilized for kittens under 1 year of age who have undergone sterilization.
A friend of mine was given a kitten a year ago. His eyes were already open, but judging by the way his tummy touched the floor, it was clear that the baby was not even a month old. Some kittens, of course, already eat at this age, but this little one did not eat anything. The new guardians were afraid to pour cow's milk into him with a pipette. The veterinarian advised me to buy special milk for kittens (like baby formula). It turned out that a similar product is produced under the Royal Canin brand.

Does Royal Canin have cat treats?
Every owner wants to pamper their pet with “goodies”
What a treat is for a cat is known only to the cat itself. It is impossible to predict which product she will perceive as “delicious.” But the owner’s participation also plays a big role in choosing such a treat. My cat eats natural food, so we have wet food as a treat. The cat eats it with appetite (and it is safer than her beloved candies). Although my Hosya will not refuse canned peas, a glass of ice cream (the cat eats it, standing on her hind legs, holding the glass itself with her two front paws), and even green onions.
In fact, a cat treat is considered a special product that combines 2 functions at once:
- the cat should like the treat, it should cause appetite, etc.;
- the treat should be healthy and low-calorie (its consumption should not lead to overeating).
Royal Canin produces treats for pets in the form of bones made from compressed sinews. Such a treat satisfies the pet’s need to chew something, cleanses teeth of tartar and plaque, and also freshens breath. But, unfortunately, at the moment this product is only available for dogs. Therefore, as a “yummy” you can choose some delicious jelly from the same manufacturer.
Other feeds to replace Royal Canin
It may also happen that the usual Royal Canin food is not available in the store.
If it so happens that “Royal” is not in the store or you temporarily need to switch to another food, then choose a product of better quality. Some premium and super premium foods are even cheaper than Royal Canin, so there is no reason to switch to economy. Among premium foods, the following are popular:
- Brit Premium;
- Probalance;
- Organix;
- Ontario;
- Science Plan;
- Pro Plan;
- Eukanuba.
Photo gallery: good premium food
Brit premium food is produced by the Czech company Vafo Praha
Eukanuba is considered an excellent quality food, trusted not only by cat owners, but also by veterinarians, but it costs about 2 times more than its analogues
Ontario food contains at least 31% chicken meat
They claim that their products do not contain GMOs, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives
Pro Plan is often recommended by veterinarians
The composition of Probalance food includes preservatives E320 and E321
You can also choose good super premium food to replace Royal Canin:
- Fitmin For Life;
- Brit Care;
- Summit;
- Blitz;
- Leonardo.
The cat owner should remember that the transition to a new food should be smooth. You cannot buy a bag of new food and immediately start feeding it to your pet. First you need to offer the alternative you have found (you can pour the usual and new food into different bowls). The next day you can offer new food, for example, for dinner. And after a few days, try giving the cat only a new product. In this case, you need to carefully monitor both the cat’s behavior and its condition. The slightest deterioration in her health may mean that the new food is not suitable for her.
If you only feed your cat dry food, always have water in one of her bowls. The animal will not drink too much, so there is no need to limit the amount of liquid for the pet. And even more so, you don’t need to feed your cat regular food from the table.

Brit Care is presented in the form of food for kittens, adult and senior cats
Fitmin For Life is an excellent food for cats with a capricious taste.
Russian cat breeders like Leonardo food because they have good veterinary lines
Summit is a food that (according to customer reviews) is good when transitioning from another food
The highest quality (but not the most affordable) are analogs of “Royal” of the holistic class. These include the following products:
- Felidae;
- Eagle Pack Holistic;
- Chicken Sou;
- Innova;
- WOLFSBLUT;
- Almo Nature;
- GO!;
- GRANDORF;
- MAGNUSSON.

Almo Nature is sold in the form of food for cats of different ages and taking into account the characteristics of the body
Eagle Pak Holistic is presented in the form of food for kittens and lactating cats, a hypoallergenic diet and regular food for adult cats.
On the food packaging GO! there are marking stripes (green - for kittens and cats with a delicate gastrointestinal tract, pink - for kittens with chicken and vegetables, purple - with 4 types of meat)
Innova food is suitable for cats whose fur and skin require special attention.
Grandorf contains at least 32% animal protein
Table: comparison of feeds of different classes to replace Royal Canin
Class | Name | Features of the composition | Manufacturer | Price |
Premium | Brit Premium | 5 types of meat are used (duck, turkey, venison, lamb, salmon) | Czech | from 286 rubles per 1 kg |

Reviews of Royal Canin food from veterinarians and cat owners
When a beloved pet devours the food offered with appetite, it cannot leave the owner indifferent - hence the numerous reviews on the Internet about various foods
I know many animal owners and breeders who have been feeding Royal for the past ten years and have had no problems. I also know many whose animals suffered from diarrhea, itching, and whose liver and kidneys failed. Different animals are different organisms. The food suits some people, not others.

Most cat owners are satisfied with the quality of Royal Canin food. Some owners note an improvement in the animal's health after constant use of this product.
It helped me a lot, my cat’s breath smelled bad, and after regularly taking Royal Canin “Oral care” everything went away. Don’t spread illnesses and take care of your pet, because they can’t tell us what hurts them.

There are many reviews of kittens literally attacking the Royal Canin food bowl.
I have two neutered cats, 3 and 5 years old, we eat Royal, there are no problems, the coat is beautiful, the ears and eyes are clean. We make sure to do urolithiasis prevention once every six months - I take it with KotErvin (that’s what the veterinarian told us).

Many veterinarians recommend Royal Canin dietary (veterinary) food to their tailed patients. Judging by the reviews, cat breeders do not regret trusting the veterinarian’s recommendations.
We feed Romka medicinal Royal, everything is fine. A good doctor recommended him to us.

Not everyone can afford such food; although it is healthy, not everyone can afford it.

Some buyers of this food and veterinarians noticed some deterioration in quality, but this did not reduce the demand for the product.
Despite the fact that in Russia they are manufactured under license using good equipment, they are inferior to the original. The main advantage of Royal Canin is the availability of a line of medicinal foods separately for different breeds and ages. Veterinary feeds are balanced taking into account the specific disease. They consolidate the results of treatment, accelerate it, and have a preventive effect. You cannot make decisions about feeding on your own, only on the recommendation and under the supervision of a specialist.

Every year, everyday foods that were once beloved by many contain more and more low-quality and incomprehensible ingredients. Veterinary lines and kitten food have not changed as much, but they have still become much worse in quality.

You can feed your cat only healthy, properly balanced food. If the cat owner cooks for his pet himself, then responsibility for the quality of the cat food rests solely on the shoulders of the cat breeder. But an increasing number of cat lovers trust industrially produced food. Royal Canin cat food is considered to be properly balanced. Some customers have begun to complain about deterioration in quality, but veterinarians still recommend some lines of this product.
Conclusions about food
There are different reviews about Royal Canin food. Some buyers are happy with everything, others are not satisfied with the price, and others are not satisfied with the quality. The same claims are made about other premium ready-made food. Prices for Royal Canin are the same as their analogues or slightly higher. The quality of super premium food is higher, and they are not much more expensive. Veterinarians and breeders prefer to work with foods that have been on the market for a long time. Owners like that: you can choose food for a dog of any breed, size, age. Dog breeders recommend Royal Canin as their main food.
