Farmina N&D cat food is produced by Farmina Pet Food in factories in Italy, Serbia and Brazil.
The official website is (in Russian), it contains everything important about the entire line of food (compositions, feeding rates, description of ingredients, etc.). This food belongs to the super-premium class; grain-free formulas can be considered holistic. The N&D (Natural & Delicious) brand also produces dog food. Farmina also produces food under the brands CIBAU, Vet Life (veterinary food), Fun Dog, Fun Cat, Ecopet Natural, MATISSE, and Vet-Active vitamins.
Farmina N&D feed composition
Let's get acquainted with the composition of Farmina N&D food using the example of the CHICKEN & POMEGRANATE NEUTERED option (low grain for adult cats, chicken and pomegranate). You can see it in the image below, click on it to enlarge for easier reading:
On the left is a photo of the composition from the packaging, on the right is data from the official website.
The first two ingredients, fresh chicken fillet 24% and dehydrated chicken meat 24%, are good sources of protein. Further in the composition there are also ingredients rich in animal proteins - dehydrated whole eggs, fresh herring, dehydrated herring. Hydrolyzed animal protein - it is more of a flavoring agent.
There are no ingredients rich in vegetable protein; you can be sure that the bulk of the 38% of proteins indicated in the analysis are of animal origin. It should also be noted that grain-free options do not contain spelled or oats.
Sources of carbohydrates are spelled 10% (essentially a type of wheat) and oats 10%. Note that in grain-free formulas the source of carbohydrates is potatoes, not spelled and oats. The main source of fiber is sugar beet pulp, but it is also rich in ingredients such as dried carrots, pea fiber, and dried apples.
Sources of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids are chicken fat and fish oil, respectively. The remaining ingredients are also rich in certain beneficial substances. Natural preservatives and antioxidants - rosemary extract and tocopherols (vitamin E).

Among the advantages of this food:
- source of proteins - meat ingredients;

Farmina: for every taste and budget
Picky buyers, having noticed that Farmina food is produced in 3 countries: Italy, Serbia and Brazil, often begin to find out: where are the highest quality products produced? But the company assures that there is no difference - all enterprises are equipped with the latest technological equipment and receive the same raw materials (from Italy)... The quality control system operates in the same way - an examination is carried out at any factory (both raw materials and products after each technological operation).
It is noteworthy that this manufacturer does not rely on a specific group of buyers - the range of quality and price indicators of Farmina products is able to satisfy the needs of any pet and the capabilities of any owner.
The company’s specialists develop recipes and technologies independently, taking into account everything: international standards, reviews from veterinarians, and the opinion of cat owners.
In every Farmina factory, production is based on 4 fundamental principles:
- Twin-screw extrusion - does not violate the nutritional value of raw materials, allows you to preserve all nutritional properties;
- Adding vitamins after extrusion does not destroy their structure and quality;
- Vacuum system – introduces vitamins and fats through the pores into the granules, as a result, the beneficial components remain unchanged throughout the shelf life of the product;
- Do not work “in the warehouse” - the finished food is not stored in the warehouse, but is immediately sent to consumers - the product reaches animal owners soon after production (i.e. in the freshest possible form).
Components:
- The source of protein in Farmina food is natural meat, fish and eggs.
- To provide the diet with a sufficient amount of fat, fish and/or chicken fat is added to the granules.
- To provide the cat's body with energy, rice or corn flour is added.
- For normal intestinal function, fiber is needed - for this, peas or sugar beets are added to the granules.
- Natural prebiotics help improve the functioning of the digestive system.
The company produces a wide range of food - which allows you to choose a diet for an animal of any age and health condition, as well as depending on the “thickness of the owner’s wallet”
The most popular line of Farmina food is “ Cimiao ” (this is super-premium dry food - optimally balanced, without dyes and preservatives) which includes:
- Cimiao Kitten – food for pregnant and lactating cats and kittens;
- Cimiao Light – food for sedentary and obese animals;
- Cimiao Senior – suitable for older pets;
- Cimiao Neutered Male – designed for feeding neutered cats;
- Cimiao Neutered Female – will improve the metabolism of a sterilized cat;
- Cimiao Hairball – to remove hairballs from the stomach;
- Cimiao Delicious – desirable for animals with poor digestion;
- Cimiao Persian is a special composition for Persian cats.
The premium line “ Matisse ” (differs from “Cimiao” in having a lower content of useful microelements, but at a more affordable price) is notable for the fact that, in addition to dry food, it also includes “canned treats” (from a wide variety of types of meat and fish)…
N&D line is offered (where the content of grains is minimized (or completely eliminated) and not only all the necessary microelements are included, but also vitamins, fatty acids, etc.) - which can already be classified as “holistic”.
Professional line of food – “ Vet Life ” (in demand among breeders and veterinarians).
For extremely economical cat owners, dry food from the “ Fun Cat ” line is offered (which contains only the “necessary minimum”: proteins, fats, fiber and ash).
In each category of feed there are several types of products: based on meat, fish or poultry, mixed formulations. Try from the very beginning to accustom your pet to a varied diet - this way she will receive the maximum of all the necessary vitamins/microelements. If you feed a cat the same product for a long time, it may subsequently refuse food of a different composition.
Depending on the class of Farmina food, its positive/negative aspects depend:
- “Holistics”, which mainly consist of natural and dehydrated meat, fish, eggs (no meat-and-bone meal, no offal - there are no) and do not contain grains (which are difficult for the cat’s digestion) - have no obvious disadvantages, except for the high cost, No. But, if your pet has previously eaten low-quality food , he will not like the lack of a cereal component in the biscuits. For such animals, low-grain formulations are offered.
- Super-premium and premium classes differ from “holistic” ones by having a lower content of animal proteins and microelements, as well as the presence of corn flour. There are no chemical additives or GMO products, but such a diet cannot be considered completely balanced. If you feed your animal with food below the “elite” class, supplement the diet with vitamins and other special additives.
- Economy class food is “just food” that will fill you up, but will not bring any benefit. Of course, Farmina's budget food is superior in quality to many low-price products from other manufacturers, but still its composition leaves much to be desired (there is no meat in it, animal proteins enter the cat's body from meat and bone meal).
The “disadvantages” of all Farmina feeds include a high percentage of “ash” in the composition - these are useful minerals, but some animals may not like the specific taste of the “component”... and there is also an “opinion” that an excess of “ash” is the cause of urolithiasis diseases.
Do not purchase products intended for professionals on your own..
If your cat has health problems, only a specialist can develop proper dietary nutrition. After examining the animal, the veterinarian may recommend special nutrition for animals with diabetes or pathologies in any body systems.
Choose the right food for your pet - if it is not possible to purchase high-quality products, supplement the diet with vitamin and mineral complexes. Feed your pet correctly, and he will repay you for this with affection and love.

Pusencia and I recently ordered different flavors of grain-free Farmina N/d and decided to make a photo report of croquettes of different flavors. I hope someone finds this information useful. Flavors: Chicken with pomegranate, Chicken with pomegranate for kittens, Lamb with blueberries, Fish with oranges. Pomegranate chicken and orange fish have larger granules.
The kitten eats with pleasure and has never walked past the bowl. And we tried a lot)) We tested the flavors one by one, without mixing. Does Pusya prefer chicken with pomegranate?
It is possible that this is not the most ideal dry food, but I can see how beautifully her red fur shimmers, clear eyes, trips to the toilet every hour, fresh breath, moderately well-fed, mischievous and cheerful, what else is needed for happiness))
It's almost a year on Farmina. I usually buy from Eldorado, but there are supply problems there, so sometimes I order from Uniza. And is it more profitable in Eldorado with bonuses and various promotional codes, free delivery than in other pet stores?

We first tried this food on the recommendation of a veterinarian when our cats had digestive problems. Then Farmina Vet Life veterinary food helped cope with them. When the cat felt well, we tried the daily line from the same manufacturer - Farmina N&D Chicken & Pomegranate adult cat.
Unfortunately, digestion began to deteriorate again, possibly due to the chicken in the composition. It was decided to try another food from Farmina, this time CODFISH & ORANGE ADULT. Digestion improved, but the stool was still watery.
I won’t say that this is a bad food; it should be suitable for animals with a healthy digestive system. It didn’t suit mine until I took the veterinary food again, and then we’ll try to find something else.

About six months ago I stopped feeding my cat Farmina. For more than three years we ate low-grain food, the last was food with cod, spelled and orange. Everything was fine with the cat, healthy, active, handsome)
We had to change the food because it was inaccessible; only one store sold Farmina in our country, which eventually moved to another location (into a smaller room) and Farmina disappeared from the shelf after that. It’s inconvenient to chase around the city in search of food; it’s easier to switch to a more easily accessible brand.
Reviews of Farmina products
When our griffon's eyes started to run and unpleasant brown tear tracks appeared, I immediately turned to experienced breeders for help. At the same time, I didn’t even suspect that THESE were signs of food allergies in dogs, because I had never encountered such a phenomenon before. We completely stopped the food we were feeding him, eliminated chicken from the dog's diet (as a major allergen), and chose the lowest protein food we could find. More precisely, the hypoallergenic dietary food for dogs Farmina Vet Life Hypoallergenic Egg & Ric was recommended to me by a friend, an experienced dog handler and griffon breeder. In general, I really liked Farmina food in general. And their veterinary line is simply superb! You can choose food for dogs and cats suffering from various diseases and make their lives significantly easier. This food option is available in two weight versions - 2 kg and 12 kg, and the cost differs accordingly. If the dog is small (it seems to me that allergy sufferers are most often medium-sized and small dogs, although Labradors are also said to have severe allergies), well, in general, it is more logical to take a 2-kilogram package (one or several at once). I take 2 kg bags, because I think that it is better not to keep the food open for a long time - it oxidizes and loses its properties. What is especially pleasing is that there is no chicken at all in the composition and there is not even chicken fat (which we put into all hypoallergenic food). And in general, there is no meat as such, although the crude protein in this food is only 15.50%. The source of protein is egg (22%). But for our griffon, which, as it turns out, cannot tolerate a high percentage of protein, this is a very good indicator. The food is also enriched with vitamins, minerals, fish oil, potassium chloride, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, sodium chloride... Rice serves as a source of carbohydrates here. If your dog is allergic to other grains, this is a very good option. Now I will tell you about the effectiveness of the feed. I was still afraid that the dog would not have enough energy (there is no meat in the food) and he would lose weight. Yeah - nothing like that! There is more than enough energy, you can infect a perpetual motion machine with our Casper. Moreover, the dog’s dog has even begun to gain weight, so I want to reduce the daily norm a little. The food is well digestible, does not cause stomach upset, and is pleasant in all respects. The stool is normal, but the product yield has decreased significantly in comparison with the feed that was fed before. As for allergies, I noticed after a while that the “tear tracks” had decreased significantly and my eyes began to look much better, and after that the allergies went away altogether! The eyes look good, there are no tracks, tears practically do not flow. The result is impressive. I didn’t even expect that changing my diet would have such an effect. We tried so many foods - all to no avail and only Farmina helped so clearly.
