Cat food Brit Care Cat Missy Sterilized Chicken & Rice

Castrated and sterilized cats are calm, affectionate and playful. They don't show aggression. At the same time, the level of physical activity in animals decreases, and they are prone to gaining excess weight. The likelihood of developing urolithiasis (UCD) increases. To prevent health problems, it is important to feed your pet properly. Veterinarians recommend ready-made diets, since such nutrition is completely balanced. A good choice is Brit for neutered cats. The product is manufactured in the Czech Republic by the family company VAFO Praha.

There are a lot of chickens

Judging by the first five ingredients, the inscription on the label “High chicken” is not a fiction. Ingredient No. 1 is dehydrated chicken, it contains 20%. In third place on the list is 14% chicken fillet, which is raw, boneless chicken.

In addition, as analysis of the composition shows, Brit Care Cat Missy Sterilized also contains 14% dehydrated turkey - this food is not a monoration, as it contains two types of animal protein.

Also in the list of ingredients there is 2% chicken liver - according to its characteristics, this is rather an additive that makes the aroma and taste of this food richer and more attractive.

Brit food reviews

Brit cat food is a high-quality product that allows you not to worry about organizing the right diet for your pet.
All the beneficial elements and vitamins that cats need are already included in the ready-made food. Below you can read reviews from veterinary specialists and animal owners who purchase Brit to feed their four-legged friends.

The manufacturer produces products that are suitable for feeding sterilized and neutered animals.

Reviews from veterinarians

Brit food is a well-known brand. The quality of the products is really at a high level. The food belongs to the super-premium category. The composition includes natural ingredients that should be present in the daily diet of cats.

A significant advantage is the absence of gluten and soy among the ingredients used in the preparation process. Czech-made food can be used as a permanent diet for cats.

Giroud is a plus

The fifth component in the food is chicken fat, a high-quality isolated source of animal fat, especially since it is indicated that it is preserved with a mixture of tocopherols.

In the list of ingredients we also see salmon oil - another useful component. A review of the Brit Care Cat Missy Sterilized diet confirms that there is no trace of vegetable fats here. This means that cats will receive all the fatty acids necessary for the health of predators from those sources that are most physiological for them, that is, from high-quality animal fat.

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the main advantages that Czech food has are:

  • a wide range of ready-made food, which allows you to diversify the diet of even the most picky pets;
  • a large percentage of animal proteins in the composition;
  • the presence of dry and wet food in the line, made on the basis of natural ingredients;
  • absence of soy and gluten in the composition;
  • a large amount of vitamins, microelements, omega-3 fatty acids;
  • availability of quality certificates from the Czech brand.

Brit Care Cat Missy: Supplements for Neutered Cats

We also found L-carnitine in Brit Kea for neutered cats - it is believed to enhance metabolism and promote slimness. Since cats often gain weight after castration and sterilization, the presence of this ingredient here can rather be considered a plus.

Also, if you look at the analysis of the diet, you can see that the share of total fat here is relatively low and amounts to only 12% - this is also a positive factor for cats after surgery.

The presence of another additive in the food - sea buckthorn extract - the manufacturer explains by its ability to support the health of the kidneys and the urinary system as a whole. Of course, this is a useful ingredient, but we doubt that such a small amount of the plant in dry food will be enough for these purposes.

The label details all the vitamins and mineral compounds that balance the food, so it’s quite easy to get an idea of this diet. Despite the presence of a fairly large volume of animal protein, individual amino acids are added to the feed - taurine, DL-methionine, arginine.

Composition assessment and analysis

Cats and male cats are obligate carnivores. The basis of their diet is meat. Premium British food contains 45% meat ingredients, of which:

  • 17% chicken meal;
  • 15% dried chicken;
  • 8% hydrolyzed chicken protein;
  • 4% chicken liver sauce;
  • 1% fish oil from salmon.

Animal products and meat flour are the basis of high-quality dry food.

Additionally, chicken fat, preserved with tocopherols, is added to these components. It is a source of nutrients and gives the croquettes an aroma that attracts cats.

Manufacturers indicate the percentage of components. Meat comes first.

This means that it is contained in the most amount. Then comes rice and corn. They act as a source of carbohydrates, necessary for the formation of croquettes.

The ready-made dry diet Brit Premium also includes:

  • dried beet pulp;
  • Brewer's yeast;
  • 0.25% dried dandelion;
  • prebiotics;
  • Yucca Schidigera extract;
  • herbal and fruit extracts.

The composition does not contain flavor enhancers, flavorings or other harmful substances. Brewer's yeast and salmon oil support healthy skin and a beautiful coat. Dandelion has an anti-inflammatory effect, and yucca reduces fecal odor. Prebiotics have a positive effect on digestion.

Squirrels

Analytical components are of great importance. The condition of the pet’s body depends on their percentage.

In the diet of an obligate predator, proteins should come first. Even if the animal was sterilized, its need for protein did not decrease.

Britovsky premium food contains 34% crude protein. This is a good indicator.

Fats

Neutered pets tend to be overweight, so the amount of fat in their diet should be low.

Premium Dry Brit contains 12% crude fat.

Carbohydrates

Cats do not need large amounts of carbohydrates. Normally there should be less of them than fat. However, this is not always possible.

The manufacturer does not indicate the carbohydrate content in the analytical composition. To calculate this number, you need to subtract the percentages of the components (protein, fat, fiber, ash, moisture and minerals) from 100%. It turns out to be 29.5% carbohydrates.

Other feed components

The remaining components of the feed are vitamins, trace elements and minerals. For castrated cats, the ratio of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium plays an important role. An imbalance of minerals leads to the formation of kidney or bladder stones.

Premium Czech Brit contains:

  • 0.9% calcium;
  • 0.7% phosphorus;
  • 0.04% magnesium.

The correct ratio of minerals maintains a neutral urine pH level (6-6.5) and creates unfavorable conditions for stone formation.

Brit Care Missy Nutrition Rating

In general, we are against the presence of any grain in cat diets, especially in the base of food. This product contains rice in the top five ingredients, but the number of animal protein sources greatly exceeds the proportion of this carbohydrate source and plant protein.

It is clear that the total share of animal ingredients here is 50% - this is a good indicator. This product does not contain any vague components made from unclear raw materials, which also has a positive effect on its overall score. As a result, Brit Care Cat Missy Sterilized Chicken & Rice dry food has a very competitive rating.

Range

There are 2 lines of Brit food: Brit Premium and Brit Care. They differ in composition and classes. Brit Premium is a premium product. Brit Care belongs to the super premium class. Each line contains food for cats and cats:

  • up to 1 year;
  • over 7 years;
  • with sensitive digestion;
  • constantly staying indoors;
  • castrated (sterilized).

Brit Premium Sterilized is a complete dry food. It is low in calories, therefore it supports the optimal body constitution of the animal. Unlike Brit Care, Brit Premium contains corn. Thanks to extrusion processing, this component is well absorbed by the body of an obligate predator. However, some pets are allergic to corn. In this case, it is better to give preference to Brit Care.

Brit Premium croquettes are medium size. The animal bites them through, and does not just swallow them. This promotes proper functioning of the jaws and prevents tartar.

The food is made from chicken meat and offal. The ingredients undergo strict quality control. The chickens are raised on Czech farms and do not contain hormones. During heat treatment of meat, the maximum amount of useful components is preserved.

There are also Brit Premium canned foods for sterilized cats. They can supplement your pet’s diet, for example, give dry food in the morning and afternoon, and wet food in the evening. It is not recommended to mix croquettes into canned foods. These are different types of food, so stomach problems may occur.

Canned food is sometimes sold as cold cuts. The carton contains 4 pouches with 2 different flavors: beef and beans and chicken and turkey.

My cats said “ugh” about Brit. We tried a little, and then went on a hunger strike. I had to throw away the rest. Before this, they were accustomed to chicken soup, but in the absence of it, they hamstered any dry food. Although the composition of Brit is nothing - chicken, rice, a minimal set of vitamins. Without frills and variety, but also without inedible substances.

Flaws:

The cat did not eat it, the smell was unpleasant, the allergy did not go away.

We have a sterilized British male, he is 2 years old. His first dry food was Royal Canin. The food did not cause any complaints, but the cat’s hair was shedding a lot. We changed the food to Purina Pro Plan for sterilized ones. After about a year of feeding Purina, the cat suddenly began to itch very much. It turned out that he was allergic to the food. We read that an allergy can begin, for example, to corn, which is part of Purina. We bought Brit Kare for sterilized ones. There was no corn in the composition, but the cat still did not stop itching. In addition, he practically stopped eating Brit! He reluctantly eats a few pellets at a time and leaves the bowl hungry. I didn’t like the smell of Brit either, it was very strong even compared to Purina. And the smell from the tray became stronger. By the way, my mother’s cat, who was also given Brit once, did not eat it. At all... In general, I didn’t like Brit.

General impression:

The cat didn't eat it

inedible, the cats told me

I have 5 cats and female cats, from one and a half to 15 years old. You have to approach the issue of feeding your small herd both differentiated and on a budget. I recently decided to treat them to a food called Brit. I chose the chicken and rice mixture. You won’t believe it: all my mustachios and stripes, together, with indescribably contemptuous faces, turned away from the bowls and stared at me indignantly: what did you buy?! I had to go to the pet store again. When I offered Brit to semi-wild yard cats, their reaction was the same. Gentlemen producers! What do you make this food from?

General impression:

According to my cats, it is of little use for food.

The veterinarian told us that the cat needs to gain weight, otherwise he is rather thin. I liked the composition of Brit Lily food, read the reviews, and decided to order a small pack to try. The cat reacted to it in the form of unformed stool, and this continued while he ate this food. A few days later I returned to the old feeding option, and everything returned to normal the very next day. I think this kind of food just doesn't suit him.

It’s cheap and the composition is good, I thought, and ran to feed my little paw Sonyashka (this is affectionate, but in general she is Sonata). The cat was healthy and felt great, did not shed, about 7 months old. I don’t know exactly, we brought her from the village as a kitten, cured her of infection, vaccinated her, dewormed her, got rid of fleas and sterilized her.

The food smells strongly of fish, such an unpleasant smell, the composition seems to be not bad for such a price. The granules are small, elongated in shape.

The bag has a zip fastener, but it is out of order, so it’s inconvenient to use now. It does not cause addiction in a cat like, for example, Purina One. And everything would be fine if we didn’t experience an unexpected side effect.

Before this I was given Purina One and Monge, which was tolerated well. Further - those who are squeamish, please do not read. The cat eats it and everything seems to be fine, but after a few minutes she begins to vomit it all up. It's not a pleasant sight. And so every time. And if she didn’t have time to remove it right away, she ate it. Ugh! Perhaps there was something with the composition, perhaps it was due to its small size, she swallowed some part and therefore her stomach could not cope, perhaps it swelled too much and quickly. I don’t know, but I won’t buy this food for my lapula anymore. And she went to the tray well.

Details

Before switching to this food, I fed cats dry food from the same manufacturer, only for castrated cats, I already wrote a review about it here. Since the cats on it were kind of skinny, I decided to try to switch them to food with a different composition.

We switched to it without any digestive problems. Both cats ate it without any problems, but at the same time, I wouldn’t say that they were completely delighted with it. Premium food, the composition is generally good for its price. At the moment, I cannot afford to buy expensive and high-quality brands, so I have to choose the most acceptable options that I can afford.

The food does not have a strong odor compared to other foods, and does not feel very greasy to the touch. Feed consumption is approximately 60-70 grams per average cat.

What constantly irritated me was that the food always left small crumbs at the bottom of the bowl, which were never eaten; I had to constantly add fresh food, otherwise the cats would walk around me with hungry eyes. As a result, from a pack of 2 kg, there was always about 300 grams of this crumb left, which was already eaten up by the yard cats.

There is no tear line on the packaging, which is not very convenient, you need to use scissors, there is no cutting line as such.

While the food cost about 700 rubles for 2 kg, I bought it, but after it rose in price to 850 rubles, I decided to look for an alternative.

The biggest disadvantage is that after some time (a couple of months) after switching to this food, the cats began to vomit in the morning and the longer they fed it, the more often they vomited, every 3-4 days. We changed the food and everything returned to normal. My mother-in-law had a terrible story with this food, the cat also began to feel sick after a while, was the food really not suitable for three cats at once? Makes me think that it is not of very high quality...

I do not advise you to buy it!

Compound

The food contains:

  • dehydrated turkey and chicken meat;
  • rice bran;
  • rice;
  • chicken fat;
  • dried apples;
  • beet pulp;
  • plantain;
  • sea buckthorn pear-shaped;
  • salmon oil;
  • Brewer's yeast;
  • vitamins;
  • minerals;
  • prebiotics.

Most of the feed is protein, i.e. meat - 55%. There are 2 types of fat: salmon oil and chicken fat. They are indispensable for the cat’s body, as they saturate the body with important acids. At the same time, they are quickly absorbed. The source of carbohydrates is not grain crops, but potatoes. This is a “plus” of the food, since potatoes have a low glycemic index, and they cleanse the intestines well (due to starch).

The subtle aroma of mint stimulates the cat's appetite, sodium phosphate prevents tartar from sticking to the teeth, sea buckthorn is an excellent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent.

To prevent overeating, be sure to read the instructions on the package. An animal weighing no more than 5 kg and not sterilized should receive approximately 200 g of feed per day. If the animal is castrated, the portion can be increased to 250 g. A special calculation of the portion is also required if the cat is pregnant, or weakened, or old.
